Project Release:
A new karaoke bar has made its way to Nashville, TN at the Cross-eyed Critters Watering Hole. Karaoke + Nashville, can you think of a better combination? The bar is an extension of the recently opened Graduate Hotel Nashville - a funky, playful stay, right in the heart of midtown.
This new bar features a twist on an old-school favorite - a singing, playing, joke-cracking animatronic band. Although Sally Dark Rides has shifted focus to primarily turnkey dark rides, we can't deny our roots in (and love for) animated productions. When the new branch of hotels decided they were looking to put a retro spin on their karaoke bar, they came directly to Sally.
Jethro P. Hogg was the source of inspiration for this country band. Sally has replicated and installed this stand-alone animatronic entertainer all over the world. Fun fact - that guitar-pickin’ pig you see in Cross-eyed Critters is the original animatronic that was created for Farmland Foods.
After a slight re-furb and a good spit-shine, he was ready to take stage again. This time around, Jethro is accompanied by foxy Miss Bessie on the keys and Ernie on the acoustic bass.
The clothing for each character is meant to represent different eras in Country Music:
- Ernie is wearing a musical note suit nspired by Hank Williams Sr. (1930-1950s)
- Miss Bessie is wearing a pink sequin dress inspired by Dolly Parton. (1960-2000s)
- Jethro is wearing an official Eric Church hat and necklace. (2005-present)
The voice for Ernie Bear is Cooper Manning, Principal & Senior Managing Director of Investor Relations for AJ Capital Partners, host of the show The Manning Hour on Fox Sports, and the first child of professional football quarterback Archie Manning as well as an older brother to Peyton and Eli Manning.
So far, the hotel and bar alike have been an enormous success. The Hotel that opened November 2019, has already made waves on social media from celebrity sightings and even hosting a grand New Year Eve wedding where special guest, Kate Hudson sang along to a few tunes down at the watering hole, no big deal (!!). So, if you are headed to Nashville, we highly recommend Graduate, and keep your eye out, you never know who you might run into.
