About

After receiving his BFA from SCAD, Josh started work in government contracting, creating graphics for courseware. He then moved into simulation training and project management. Later, he went on to work with Apache and P8-A maintenance trainers that were created in video game engines. While the work was technically challenging it was not creative in the least bit. To satisfy his creativity, he and his wife started a comic book, Dan in Space. With the help of a Kickstarter campaign, the comic book was printed and published with great success. During that time Josh was also an Instructor at the Art Institute of Jacksonville, teaching many classes in the Media-Arts and Film department. Josh's creativity and wide range of skills, from illustration to video game development, make him a valuable member to the Sally design department.

What does your job entail?

We get to wear many hats here. It is great and never boring. I manage the media that goes into dark rides. Which entails coordinating with game developers, animation companies, ride manufactures, and interactive devices. I also design pre-visualization for ride concepts using Unreal Engine to create animation. I also get to design and render concepts for Ride Vehicles, Interactive Devices, and Show Action props. Going on site to see all these amazing assets come together to tell a great story is very rewarding.
